Valentine Dinner

As most people would know, i spent the last valentine alone. I have always have this feeling about Valentine's Day....a little lame to some of you. I feel more for Valentine's Day than X'mas i must say.

This year a dear friend came by to fill this empty space for the day. A restaurant owner friend said to me that couples should have a romantic western dinner for Valentine's. Hei...who made that rule, western konon. Instead i went to Matsuki.

Unagi Set.

We basically shared the Unagi set as i'm no longer that MPPP now. I've changed my eating habit a bit to take care of those extra weight.

Yumm....

We also had this sashimi.....fresh and GREAT. The fish are all very fresh and the cut is just nice, not too big and not to thick. With the wasabi everything was great.

The BOAT.

This Valentine's is the most memorable one for me. Not that i spent with my lover or boy friend or hubby, but for that very day i know i have a friend who really care about me. A dear friend who showed me, the meaning of ' friendship'.

Thanks.

Went to the newly opened Queensbay Mall at Bayan Lepas last Saturday. While strolling around with a few friends, we spotted this shop with a statue of a Buddha head with water flowing from the top. In an instant it reminds me of the movie Ong Bak.

The shop has this East India look to it. Selling mainly clothes and some accessories. Me and my friends were making this joke about making a wish to the Buddha's head.

As seen on Ong Bak, only smaller.

As i walk nearer to get a picture of the head, i can't help but saw the coins at the base. Apparrently some people have been making their wish there. Another thing which i noticed, there are mainly 1 cent coins in there apart from a few 10 and 20 cents.

1 cent in copper.

Lets just hope their wish comes true with that 1 cent.

Best Fishing Trip Since......

I went to the beach for some siput koreking before fishing on Sunday. Went to the usual beach we use to go. There were a lot of people there due to school holidays. I brought along the gadget as posted in my previous post. When we start digging the siput was a lot. As tho it's the siput season. Moreover the size of the siput is big, we barely seen any small ones.

After say like.....45 mins, we decided we had enough of koreking. The siput is too much, since i'll be the only one to bring it home. We then went over to the new foodcourt for dinner.

All that....yum....

After dinner we went over to Tanjung Tokong behind the Tua Pek Kong to fish. It started out just great. First cast of the rod and i caught a small 'gelama'.

We sat there with some beer in our hand and also bananas to keep the stomach full. We caught a few 'gelama' along the way. As we were sitting with our rods chatting i felt a jerk to my line. I then reel my line up. When i saw the black thing hanging was not sure what it is and held the line far away and stop reeling. Edward then came and say....thor sat lai (cat fish).

My heart was like jumping up and down. All those times i've been fishing, i've never caught any good fish. Brought the fish up and went to get the plyer then let edward do the nessasary.

Not exactly big tho.....just 1 ft in lenght.

Posted by Picasa
Check out the 'whiskers' heheh.

The cat fish boost our form up and we continue to fish. By the time we finish all the bait we went searching for something else and found an abandoned cuttle fish. We cut the cuttle fish into pieces and continue fishing.

When my line got tangled up in the rocks and broke I decided to stop fishing. After around 10 mins Edward's line got snapped too. We clear everything and leave the place. When we look at the clock it was already 12.45am. We just lost tract of time......

Claypot Restaurant

Recomended by mom to this newly opened shop on her birthday for dinner. The place is basically a 3 bedroom terrace house which turned into a restaurant. Situated at a residential area up on Hillside the place is owned by two young lady who is so called my mom's customers.

They did not renovate the place too much but just to have some tables and chairs for diners. The rooms are there as private rooms and the kitchen at the normal house kitchen area which makes the place feels kinda homely.

Each room has a feng shui kinda decor.

We were first serve with a small bowl of soup as appetizer or some sort and it taste great. Like some chinese herbal soup. Since it's mom's BIGday, i let her take the honour of choosing the food eventho i'm the one paying the bill later.

From top left.

  1. The soup.
  2. 'San Da Mei Ren' (three big beautiful human) Consist of 3 types of veggie, petai, bendi and kacang botol. All fried in sambal which taste seriously good.
  3. The usual claypot toufu.
  4. 'Dong Buo Rou' (Dong Buo's meat) Pork cooked in some really great sauce.

I couldn't finish my rice tho...and mom was all full.

The food was great and a little costly i should say but worth the price tho. Common' RM 60+ for a happy mom......worth every cent of it...

Try it out....at

Poor Smart

As the recent Jazz Fest was held at Bayview Beach Resort, Mercedes Benz had an exibition of their new Smart. When i reach the entrance of the hotel i saw a bunch of people trying to get the car down the stairs. There i saw my friend in the car supposingly to manouver the car down. This friend of mine is easily over 100kgs in weight, he is tall and big.

They lay the wood as shown below and tried to get the smart looking car down. The car itself is very low adding the weight of the driver makes it even lower. As they were trying to get the car down. The car's skirt was too low to get over the edge of the stairs. A loud scratch then was heard on the drivers side.

Smart eh.....

They then decide the so called driver was too heavy and changed to a smaller and lighter lady driver. There, the men were trying again to push the car slowly down the stairs using the wood. It was also to no avail. As they were trying and figuring out what to do. I took a nice picture of the interior.

Beautiful...looks canggih.

I went over to the damaged side and took a picture of the dent. You can see the reflection of the light as the car is coming down from the stairs. Otherwise there will be no reflection if there's no dent. Even the clip was broken.

Poor car.

Some people think so easy of this matter and kept wondering why this happen when the car is going down but not when it's going up. DUH...!!! Think people think....don't just stand there and look... Posted by Picasa

Jazz Festival 2006

The recent Jazz Festival which happened at Bayview Beach Resort was breathtaking. Supposingly to go with McEmo and then meet McDrummer there. McEmo cancelled last minute leaving me no choice but to go alone. I dragged Suki along with me in the end.

Since it was already late i see no point in paying the RM40 just for an hour or so. We decided then to just hang out at the garden and enjoy the great jazz going on inside. My legs were moving even when lying down on the poolside chair.

The entrance to jazz fest were finally open when we were almost leaving. So we decided to walk inside for a while. Denise Mininfield from the USA was singing that time.

Check out the powerful singer.

The show was great. Even Suki is dancing. The crowd was almost double the ones last year and very co-operative too. McDrummer didn't reply my message that night. I guess he's just too tired from Saturday night.

The projector for those FAR FAR away.

We were in there for more another hour. I bought a beer to go along with the Jazz. They have everybody up on the stage to show off their skill a bit. surprisingly some were very young.

A closer look of the performers and the stage.

I bought a Jazz Fest 2006 t-shirt for a worthwhile RM25 on the way out. For those who miss this Jazz Festival, or those who haven't been to Jazz Fest. BE THERE NEXT YEAR. Same place, Bayview Beach Resorts on the first weekend of December 2007.

Trust me.....you're gonna love it. Posted by Picasa

I Won Again...hehe

I am one day late in blogging about this. Recently i've been very broke. Lend my money to a friend and she fails to return yet. More over thanks to our accounts department which gave our pay on the 18th last month.

Wednesday i was left with only RM3 in my pocket. Went dinner with Edward and saw a horrific accident between a Mercedes and a bus kilang. That night Kern told me that Yang Hean wanted to go GLO. Suki was feeling bored and lonely these days wanted to join. I on the other hand was a little tired. On the way home, mom called and ask me to buy dinner for her. I bought a RM1.80 pao for her. There i was left with RM1.20

Finally reached home at 11 plus and called Suki. I agreed to go for a while and back early. Since it's been a month or so i haven't been clubbing. Car was out of petrol and with just RM1.20 in my pocket i borrowed RM10 from Suki. Suki then offered to lend me another RM10 for spare but i refused.

Reached GLO and they were having this stupid Video game which makes me feel a little regret in going that night. The game was the dancing mat with arrow where you have to follow the screen. Me and Suki were cursing the game all the way. Frankie and Mamu tried to pull me up to join the stupid dancing video game thingy. I almost ran from where i stand.

After the long boring event. Came the dancing diva. I was telling Suki, if they call me up the stage, i'll go. She say...are you sure you wanna join. Sure why not, anyway this is not the first time that i'm on GLO's stage. Moreover i may go with RM1.20 in my pocket but leave with RM556.20.

True enough, Sherry asked Eddie to call my name and i went up. I was the last among four contestants. The two finallist then have to play with ice this time, and i was one of them.

When i came off the stage i saw this guy, a friend's friend. Seen this guy like 3 or 4 times at glo before.

Fat Guy : Open bottle ar?
Me : I also dunno how much i won also.
Fat Guy : RM Should be RM400
Me : See how la....i came with only 1 friend.
I walked away.

Fat guy then came with a bunch of friends and stood behind Suki. After being clean from alcohol for a month, i get a little high just by drinking the whisky and stout. When i telling Suki that we should leave, the fat guy looked at me and gestured to me 'where's your bottle? i'm thirsty.' I just wave and chao.

Me and suki adjourned to Williams place then. I opened a bucket of beer and treated them. That night was finally fun towards the end. Maybe cos all three of us were intoxcicated at the end. That night i went home with RM356.20 before deducting the beer and food i paid. All i can say that it was a fun and productive night.

Happy Birthday - Keith

Tomorrow is the birthday of a dear friend. We've known each other for so many years and glad that we still stay as friends apart from the differences. It's weird to say, we don't share a group of friends together.

All those happy times shared are very well kept in my memory box. You will still be the one whom i'll look for when my car broke down. Hehe. Glad to see that you are now moving up in your career and love life.

I went through my memory box today and found these.....when you came to support the competition.

For the time we've known each other, i can only find these two. The only pictures we've ever taken. Turns out to be good looking too...we should take pictures with your camera more often. Your camera is very kind to me. hehe.

I'll be there when you're in need. Be there when you least feel good about life.

So...cheers my friend and HAPPY BIRTHDAY.

Taasha - 1 year + 1 month

Ah girls have learnt how to walk steadily now. Learnt to ask for things. Could'nt speak very well though. Good in imitating others gimmicks.

Obviously ah girl needs a hair cut by now. With her struggling in the chair, everyone had a hard time getting her hair nicely cut. The barber missed out a stroke of the scissors and cut a whole chunk of hair and left ah girl with a hole of hair missing. Daddy then decides for ah girl to go bald this time.

Hahaha...Bald but still looks cute. More teeth ah girl have now....SIX. Posted by Picasa

Camping II

After the long wait for everyone to get the same holiday to go camping. We decided the date like a week before the actual day. Everything was in a rush...with me and kern having to prepare food this time. We just couldn't care about the rest. At the end of the day a few important things were missed out thanks to our Pang The Absend Minded.

Same old crazy people/monkey. We missed Jimmy this time, which was bad for Yeow The Fisherman. We thought we would have Suki to join us this time but thanks to her 'auntie' which came to visit and has not left. Glad to say we have proper tent this trip. We have one big tent equipt with proper door and windows too.

Nice dandy tent all set up and soooo...nice to sleep in.

We then went to this so called water fall for a dip in the cold cold water. Lots of pictures were taken there too. Lots of funny acts from the boys. We would just have to wait for the photographers to come with the pictures. PANG....WHERE ARE ALL THE PICTURES?

Even with 3 tents we ended up sleeping in the porch at night due to the heavy rain. Lucky us there were not many campers that day. Else the porch will be full of wet and dirty campers.

Also very proud and thanks to my partner Kern for making this as the best food ever for campers. We have hard boiled egg, sausages and sanwiches. Not to mention, our maggie mee this time.....MMMMMMM..BEST LA.

Need i say more....the tummy shows you how full he is. Posted by Picasa

Not My Place ....

Met up with a guy which i know through frienster the other day. His profile and photos made him look like a very interesting person to befriend with. Not to mention....not bad looking also. Hehe..

So...he called and we met up at this futsall place, Sampan. Talked a little over iced tea and find it was quite boring and noisy with all tv on with football on the screen. He then offered to go for a drink...and when i say drink....i mean alcoholic drinks. During our conversation we talked about the places we normally go. So he asked whether do i want to go to Oriental for a beer or two, since that is the place i normally go for karaoke these days. He told me he recently visits this night club next to Sampan for business purpose quite often and knows the people there well too.

I thought, why not night club then....i've never been to a night club before. It wouldn't kill to have a beer or two just to check out the place. I've been to clubs, pubs, karaokes but never a night club before. Anyways our plan is just to have a little to drink and also away from the noisy Sampan.

This night club, whatever it's called is located at the side of Garden Inn where Marco Polo restaurant use to be. We went upstairs and opened the door and in an instant i felt chills running through my spine. I see a lot of guys hanging around and also GRO hanging around. The place is very well furnished with a bar on at the main launch and the rest are basically private karaoke rooms. In my mind i was thinking to myself, this place is weird for me and i too appear weird in the eyes of the people there. Isaac then told me to sit at the couch for a while. He then went and look for the 'mother' there, just to say hi.

He was away for almost 10-15 mins i guess, but it feels like hours there waiting. Soon after a waiter came to me and said....'Room 11'. I looked at him in awe....and went 'HUH ?' Then he said...'Isaac is in Room 11, he asked me to come get you.' I was like.....Ohhhhh....ok ok...in great relief. For a moment there i thought i was mistaken for a GRO.

I went in, sat down and to my surprise the karaoke set is actually working with flat screen TV too. We then drank a half bottle Chivas which he have left from previous visits. Supposingly to have a glass of beer or two just for a chat and we end up finishing two half bottle of Chivas that night. We then went our separate ways after the drink.

It still freaks me out a little about the 'Room 11' thingy. I guess that kind of places are not meant for ladies after all. Unless you are 'working'.

Questions

Sometimes shit happens and leaves you with questions. Questions which have so many answers which you are not able to pick. Every answer has it's own solution. Solutions for you to choose from. When there's choice....there's risks. When there's risks...there's questions again........

Sometimes you will think...why does this shit have to happen to me? If there's GOD....why does HE have to be so cruel to you?

Eventually one day you will reach a certain point, where you have made your choice to deal with the shit. That very day...will then lead to another set of questions....the could have and the should have. All mind bordering facts will appear...

Sometimes you get tired....just tired of all the thinking, tired of holding on. To hold on and be strong is a very tiring task. To portray a happy face in front of people are all out of ego. The shame of letting people know that you are hurt.

Life is just that troublesome sometimes...when you have to deal with all those problems. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we can gain control of the present and the future? Will the questions go away then????

Friend

Call me when you need me.
I'll lend you my ear...share my thoughts...even my time with you.
I'll do what ever i can...just to make you better.
I'll try my best...to understand...to try in your shoes.
Lend you my shoulder in case you need to cry.
Wipe your tears and cover your shame.
I will never leave you alone when you're down.

But....when i need you here...just here with me...
WILL YOU???

Hiss...Hiss

My mom don't usually wake me up early in the morning, but this morning was exceptional. She woke me up like so early...like 6am....wah lau..i was still in dreamland. Yeah.. i know some of you actually wake up that early. Well..i start work at 9am, i only need 15 mins to get ready and my house to office is only 10 mins drive. So usually i wake up at 8.15am or sometimes 8.30am.

Looking at mom's freaked out face..i asked....'hamisu...?' in a very sleepy voice leaning againts the room door. 'You come and see la...' mom said. I was like....WHAT???? wake me up just to ask me to go see something. This better be good. Reluctant to move away from by bed more i asked again....'Go see what?' Then mom gave me the news which wakes me up from my dream in an instant.

Mom : Got snake...
Me : What snake?
Mom : Gim cua...(python)
Me : Where?
Mom : My room...i woke up and saw that fella by hole at the wall. Come and see la.
Me : Big or not?
Mom : Big also...now coming inside d...how?

So, i went over to her room and look from outside. The snake was at the roof slowly slithering it's way towards the door. We then went to the hall to figure out what to do and who to call. Mom then thought of this odd job worker staying nearby. She then went with her motorbike to call Ah Bok. I went to monitor where the snake goes.

That fella never stop moving..slowly making it's way out to the kitchen. Still on the wooden roof foundation that fella move slowly through the gap on top of the kitchen door and out. I switched on the lights over there and follows the snake. In slow motion the snake is now heading downwards and about to enter my room. I make a 'hiss' sound as if not allowing that fella to go in. The snake gave me a stare in the face sticking it's tounge out...hiss hiss...I thought ok la ...go lah where ever you wanna go.

I ran back to the hall to get my phone, in mind to call my mom asking what took her so long. I came back and the snake was in a VERY nice position with it's body in the window and head out facing me. I on my HP camera trying to take nice picture of the snake. It was too dark that i have to on the camera flash. With the flash to it's face the stupid snake went inside. I only able to capture this....
Mom then came with Ah Bok, by then the snake went in to my room already and was on the curtain when i went back to see. While i was leaving to get hold of Nikko i saw the snake's body fell off the curtain. Ah Bok went into my room and tried to catch the snake. When i saw he was trying to grab it with the tongs the snake was struggling. He too was struggling to get it in the plastic bag. The battle went on for around 5 - 10 mins before the human finally won. Mom paid Ah Bok a hefty RM20.00 for the good work done.
We then looked at each other with the 'fuh' look in our eyes. Mom went to work, while i sat and watch TV. Still a little too freaked out from the unwanted visit. As mom was going on her bike, she turned and with a smile she say...'eh...people say, snake enters the house. It brings luck.'

Wonderful Nature

Stumble across a stall selling flowers while 'shopping' at the market in 7th street. The beautiful flowers just gets me to stop a little while to enjoy the scenery. Get me wondering....if life can be that beautiful. Just plain 'NICE' wouldn't it be wonderful.

Couldn't help myself but took out my handphone and snap a nice picture of the beautiful nature's creation. Every petal are so well and nice. Not even one missing i think....

Isn't nature GREAT ?? Posted by Picasa

Small Yet Tough

It's time again for ah girl to get her shots. Went to fetch her on Friday to get the injection done at the nearby Block A Klinik Ibu dan Anak. Brought along Ellie just in case ah girl merajuk after the shot, at least someone is there to help me drive while i try to calm her down.

Reached the clinic and as usual ah girl has to be weighed. I first tried to lay her down on top of the weighing machine but she refuses and kept sitting up. The nurse then says it's ok to just let her sit on the machine. When i let go of my hands holding her she starts bouncing and laughing on the machine making the needle of the weighing machine go crazy. Then i have to hold her down a while and take a quick look at her weight. She's 9.7 kgs now, no wonder my hands hurt after every playtime. Then came the time to measure her height she kept walking here and there. I tried to hold her still for the nurse to measure with the measuring tape but ah girl just pull the tape away from the nurse thinking it's a toy. Kids kids....everything are toys to them. The nurse eventually gave up and went to prepare the needle instead.

When i brought ah girl into the room, she looked around the room then looked at me with a little fear in her eyes. The room looks familiar to her, she's been here a few times before. I was thinking to myself. This is gonna be loud. Unlike the previous times she is more clever now in terms of getting people's attention. I thought this time she's gonna cry non stop till god knows when. I hold her down and pressed her legs down for the nurse to jab her. When the needle enters her flesh she let out a loud scream....then stop. Just one time. Just one cry...then back to laughing. I was like...OMG...my girl is tough wei. Just like mummy....tough chick.
see....after jab still so happy....
GO GIRL!!~~!!

Happy Birthday My Girl

It's been a year....my girl have grown so much. We both have learnt so much from each other. Ah girl turned 1 on the 4th Oct.

See how much she have grown.....

Knowing that most people will buy clothes for kids on their birthdays, i decided to buy toys instead. Some noisy toys for her to enjoy playing with. Introduced by my colleage and also a friend who's in Australia now, myself, kern and cheryl went to this big toy shop along Jalan Prangin. My friend call it The Pink Toy Shop. The shop is the ultimate toy shop for kids and the price are way cheaper than Toys r Us. Beat that....it's even cheaper than pasar malam price.

I remembered when i was little i used to have that inflatable toy with weight at the bottom. That was my favourite toy when i was small. It will bounch back everytime it's knocked down..like damn cool how the thing works. In mandarine we call it 'pu dao ung' (non falling toy). Mine was a gift from some petrol station. It is my girl's first birthday so i thought i would present her with my favourite toy, except with a new one of course. Ah girl love it when she first saw it...she's gonna have the same great taste as mummy...hehe.

Ah girl is also into phones...so i got her a handphone as wan yau has bought her a line phone...thanks godmom. The phone only costs me RM 2.00...isn't that shop great? and it comes with the batteries too...

The bangle grandma gave....nice huh.... Posted by Picasa
