Went to the newly opened Queensbay Mall at Bayan Lepas last Saturday. While strolling around with a few friends, we spotted this shop with a statue of a Buddha head with water flowing from the top. In an instant it reminds me of the movie Ong Bak.

The shop has this East India look to it. Selling mainly clothes and some accessories. Me and my friends were making this joke about making a wish to the Buddha's head.

As seen on Ong Bak, only smaller.

As i walk nearer to get a picture of the head, i can't help but saw the coins at the base. Apparrently some people have been making their wish there. Another thing which i noticed, there are mainly 1 cent coins in there apart from a few 10 and 20 cents.

1 cent in copper.

Lets just hope their wish comes true with that 1 cent.

Best Fishing Trip Since......

I went to the beach for some siput koreking before fishing on Sunday. Went to the usual beach we use to go. There were a lot of people there due to school holidays. I brought along the gadget as posted in my previous post. When we start digging the siput was a lot. As tho it's the siput season. Moreover the size of the siput is big, we barely seen any small ones.

After say like.....45 mins, we decided we had enough of koreking. The siput is too much, since i'll be the only one to bring it home. We then went over to the new foodcourt for dinner.

All that....yum....

After dinner we went over to Tanjung Tokong behind the Tua Pek Kong to fish. It started out just great. First cast of the rod and i caught a small 'gelama'.

We sat there with some beer in our hand and also bananas to keep the stomach full. We caught a few 'gelama' along the way. As we were sitting with our rods chatting i felt a jerk to my line. I then reel my line up. When i saw the black thing hanging was not sure what it is and held the line far away and stop reeling. Edward then came and say....thor sat lai (cat fish).

My heart was like jumping up and down. All those times i've been fishing, i've never caught any good fish. Brought the fish up and went to get the plyer then let edward do the nessasary.

Not exactly big tho.....just 1 ft in lenght.

Check out the 'whiskers' heheh.

The cat fish boost our form up and we continue to fish. By the time we finish all the bait we went searching for something else and found an abandoned cuttle fish. We cut the cuttle fish into pieces and continue fishing.

When my line got tangled up in the rocks and broke I decided to stop fishing. After around 10 mins Edward's line got snapped too. We clear everything and leave the place. When we look at the clock it was already 12.45am. We just lost tract of time......

Claypot Restaurant

Recomended by mom to this newly opened shop on her birthday for dinner. The place is basically a 3 bedroom terrace house which turned into a restaurant. Situated at a residential area up on Hillside the place is owned by two young lady who is so called my mom's customers.

They did not renovate the place too much but just to have some tables and chairs for diners. The rooms are there as private rooms and the kitchen at the normal house kitchen area which makes the place feels kinda homely.

Each room has a feng shui kinda decor.

We were first serve with a small bowl of soup as appetizer or some sort and it taste great. Like some chinese herbal soup. Since it's mom's BIGday, i let her take the honour of choosing the food eventho i'm the one paying the bill later.

From top left.

  1. The soup.
  2. 'San Da Mei Ren' (three big beautiful human) Consist of 3 types of veggie, petai, bendi and kacang botol. All fried in sambal which taste seriously good.
  3. The usual claypot toufu.
  4. 'Dong Buo Rou' (Dong Buo's meat) Pork cooked in some really great sauce.

I couldn't finish my rice tho...and mom was all full.

The food was great and a little costly i should say but worth the price tho. Common' RM 60+ for a happy mom......worth every cent of it...

Try it out....at

Poor Smart

As the recent Jazz Fest was held at Bayview Beach Resort, Mercedes Benz had an exibition of their new Smart. When i reach the entrance of the hotel i saw a bunch of people trying to get the car down the stairs. There i saw my friend in the car supposingly to manouver the car down. This friend of mine is easily over 100kgs in weight, he is tall and big.

They lay the wood as shown below and tried to get the smart looking car down. The car itself is very low adding the weight of the driver makes it even lower. As they were trying to get the car down. The car's skirt was too low to get over the edge of the stairs. A loud scratch then was heard on the drivers side.

Smart eh.....

They then decide the so called driver was too heavy and changed to a smaller and lighter lady driver. There, the men were trying again to push the car slowly down the stairs using the wood. It was also to no avail. As they were trying and figuring out what to do. I took a nice picture of the interior.

Beautiful...looks canggih.

I went over to the damaged side and took a picture of the dent. You can see the reflection of the light as the car is coming down from the stairs. Otherwise there will be no reflection if there's no dent. Even the clip was broken.

Poor car.

Some people think so easy of this matter and kept wondering why this happen when the car is going down but not when it's going up. DUH...!!! Think people think....don't just stand there and look... Posted by Picasa

Jazz Festival 2006

The recent Jazz Festival which happened at Bayview Beach Resort was breathtaking. Supposingly to go with McEmo and then meet McDrummer there. McEmo cancelled last minute leaving me no choice but to go alone. I dragged Suki along with me in the end.

Since it was already late i see no point in paying the RM40 just for an hour or so. We decided then to just hang out at the garden and enjoy the great jazz going on inside. My legs were moving even when lying down on the poolside chair.

The entrance to jazz fest were finally open when we were almost leaving. So we decided to walk inside for a while. Denise Mininfield from the USA was singing that time.

Check out the powerful singer.

The show was great. Even Suki is dancing. The crowd was almost double the ones last year and very co-operative too. McDrummer didn't reply my message that night. I guess he's just too tired from Saturday night.

The projector for those FAR FAR away.

We were in there for more another hour. I bought a beer to go along with the Jazz. They have everybody up on the stage to show off their skill a bit. surprisingly some were very young.

A closer look of the performers and the stage.

I bought a Jazz Fest 2006 t-shirt for a worthwhile RM25 on the way out. For those who miss this Jazz Festival, or those who haven't been to Jazz Fest. BE THERE NEXT YEAR. Same place, Bayview Beach Resorts on the first weekend of December 2007.

Trust me.....you're gonna love it. Posted by Picasa
