SIPUT

Back in the days when I was a little girl, the whole family used to go to the beach for picnic. Dad will bring his fishing net and stuff. He always like the outdoors. Dad will bring us to the beach at least twice a month those days. Mom will always be there digging for siput and dad will use his fishing net hopefully to catch some fish. We kids will just enjoy the sand and the sea.

Last Sunday, to reminiscent the old days, Edward and I decided to head to the beach for a siput digging session. I remember my dad made this thing out of scrap to make siput digging an easier job. Its frame is basically welded together using scrap metal taken by dad from construction site. The middle is fixed with metal grill usually used for BBQ.

Clever...huh...

I get the siput digging thingy and headed to the nearby beach with Edward. We went to the beach located just behind Sunflower Cake House in Tanjung Bungah. There is also an Indian Temple on the beach (what a weird place for a temple). The beach is supposed to have a lot of siput or so as told by Edward.

With the appropriate attire, we went to work. Being a man, he will have to do all the hard work while I stay beside him and do the collection. It turns out what he said is true. There are indeed a lot of siput and most in decent size too. After an hour or two, we got almost enough siput to serve a family of four. Moreover the container I brought can no longer accommodate anymore siput. So with all the siput we say goodbye to the beach.

Ready to be cooked.

I took home all the siput. Washed them with tap water and then soak them in salt water for an hour or two. While the siputs are in the bowl, I chop some garlic and slice some ginger too. The last time I fry siput, it turned out too salty. So this time, I decided to call on mom.

Garlic and ginger

Being a wonderful cook all this while, mom fired up and gets the wok heated. When the wok is hot enough, oil is poured in, then the garlic and ginger. Stir the till the garlic turns brownish in color then the siput is added. A decent amount of dark soya sauce, soya sauce and also a pinch of sugar is also added in. Then with her excellent skill, she stirs the siput to get the sauce evenly spread. Cover the lit to let it simmer and also for the siput to open up. After all have been done, fried siput is ready to be served.

Mmmm....nice.....beautiful Sunday.

FIRST TIME IN B.E.D.

Last week, Cheryl invited me to her b'day party in B.E.D. I was a bit reluctant to go at first, but after being pestered by Tuart for a few times i decided to go.

I went there around 11.15pm just in time to booz myself up before the cake cutting ceremony. B.E.D. is somewhat like Segafredo, it's located along Belissa Row. Furnished mainly in white, the place looked a little too bright to party. Overall a cozy place to hang out. There were almost 20 - 30 people there at the time except the b'day girl.

A few days before the party i heard from Tuart that her colleages are going also. I met them on MSN but never in person, so i plan not to let them know. A moment later Cheryl came from the ladies and intro me to all of them who's present. After introducing one by one to me, she went 'This is Ah Fang, my sister, she is also known as Melisa.' The guys look at me with the 'Ohhh.....' look and then turn and look at each other. Simultaneously i gave the 'Gonezz' look at Kern.

So....i went on and enjoy the party.......

Chicks with some sexy legs were present too....

As the night goes on, with the drinks kept on flowing...some got drunk. Pang was so red he look like the Chinese Kuan Kong. There's a nice picture of him hugging the JW Black Label, looks like he's not gonna let go of that evil drink. I also heard he fell on his way out of B.E.D. Pang Pang....haiz....

In my oppinion i think Pang is more drunk than Cheryl the b'day girl. At least she can still taste the Campari in the cocktail sponsered by B.E.D.

Pang..we know who you are even if you cover your face.
Cheryl..it won't make any difference even if you curse the drink.

As the party goes on...some people got bored and tired of all the drinking and entertaining. Those who are drunk... talk a hell lot more than they do. Act a hell lot more ridiculous than usual. Others just find some other things to amuse themselves.

Party goers seen doing their own stuff.

The party ended with 2 drunken dudes. Pang and Cheryl. Can't blame Cheryl, she's the birthday girl. As for Pang....we have no idea.

The first visit to B.E.D was alright...i still prefer the one at home tho. Hehe...

A NEW MEMBER IN THE FAMILY

Some where back in 2005, the year when my dad got very sick. Me and my younger brother, Win Sern decided to adopt a puppy from SPCA. This is so to keep my dad company when he returns home from the hospital. We learned this from Discovery channel, saying that having a pet at home is good for patients suffering from depression.

Soon after, Win Sern took a trip over to SPCA to check out the puppies there. He took pictures of them, came home and show me. Being a good sister, i tell him....'You choose, i'll pay.' Oh ya...we have to pay RM100.00 as a donation to SPCA. They will give the first injection for free and also a sort of like medical card for the owners to keep tract of their pet's health conditions.

One fine day when my dad is still in the hospital, I went with Win Sern to SPCA to pick up the puppy he had in mind. The volunteers brought him out and i went like.....OMG....so cute..... So while Win Sern was in the office filling in some documents, they fed the puppy and get him ready for us to take him home.

Isn't he cute......

We brought him home in my SLK (small little kancil) and he was so quiet, not even a sound. I was so scared he will vomit in my cool SLK so i drove extremely slow home. I can still remember it was that period of time where American Idol season 4 was going on. We struggle to get a right name for the new puppy. Our previous dog was named Coco after a chinese singer Coco Lee. Then soon after, with his brilliant mind my bro came up with Nikko. The black singer on American Idol season 4 called Nikko Smith. He was so good, but got eliminated soon after he got in the top 12.

Me and my brother went to a few pet shops that day. We bought a lot of stuff to make the new puppy feels at home. We try our best the next week or so to get Nikko get used to the 'home' environment so that when my dad comes back, he will be welcomed by a cute puppy.

Eventually the cute puppy grew in size and attitude. Nikko will bite everything he can get in his mouth. He will chew whatever that thing is into pieces. Be it a bone, a shoe or even a broom. Nikko has this weird drinking habit, he likes to dip half of his face into the water when he's drinking. After that he will then either walk over the water, wetting all his four legs or he'll splash the water with both his front legs.

Nikko, all grown up.

Nikko is now a year plus and I think his drinking and biting habits are here to stay. Nowadays there are a few to accompany this 2 habits of his. Whenever we close the doors, he will jump up and pull the door lever to open the door and he's getting more and more clever at this. Most recently he likes to play with his own dung. Damn dirty man.

Nikko now.
(By the way...the figure behind Nikko is Win Sern)

It all started for a reason...for my dad. Sad to say...they never meet each other. Now that the puppy has all grown up, he has become a part of our family now. Someone who will always be there to greet us when we come home. Always there when we open the door.

Most of all, a companion who will never complain. Posted by Picasa

Very Familiar

In my previous blog. I mentioned about this guy i met at this karaoke singing place called Oriental Club. I used to think he look very much like a cartoon character or should i say...the cartoon character look like him (considering the age of the two).

Those of you who have watched the ever famous cartoon Finding Nemo will know this cool seacreature. His name is Crash, a seaturtle with an Australian accent.

Beer + Wine = A New Friendship

Ohh well... i sign in to this blog thingy like months ago, but apparently i couldn't figgure out what to blog about. Well........let me start by telling you guys about this guy i met.

So there was this day....about a month or 2 ago. A friend of mine ask me out for a drink at this club called Oriental Club. I don't know why they name it Oriental...when nothing in there looks oriental. They mainly have Jackpot machines, KTV, snooker and some other stuff.

We started out with a jug of beer and then later switch to wine. Ya....i know thats bad..like really bad for health.... While we were drinking, this friend of mine, whom that was the first time i ever go out with him alone, turns out to be a very boring person. He don't talk much (which is boring enough) and like if you asked a 20 word question he'll only answer you with a 2 word answer or sometimes none at all. Argh....so fucking boring.

Then, there was this man....sitting all alone by the bar counter. A regular in Oriental and sings quite well too. Well....i'll turn and look at everybody who sing there. Just to look who's singing, be it good or bad. If it turns out good...i'll take another look to see whether his/her looks is as good as his/her's voice.

Lets get back to this man. I remember it was a Saturday and there's an MU match going on at that time. So while i was on my way back from the ladies toilet, our eyes met. So i went over and asked 'Why aren't you singing today?' (Don't blame me...i was fucking bored to death sitting down there)
'I don't know how to sing.' he replied. I gave a grin and sat back at that phathetic table of ours.

After a while i went to the ladies again.....and yet again....i went over and talk to this lonely man by the bar. We talked....and then i gave him my card....or so called 'call card'. In a minute or so, the beautiful cashier came to me and told me that i have no HP number on my card. So i grab a pencil and wrote my number.

So there goes.....me and that lonely man by the bar became friends.
